QuotyAI's First Mission: The specific problem I'm solving for the first 2 companies

Everyone builds products for “the market”.

They talk about TAM, SAM, SOM. They make personas. They interview 50 people and then build something that’s slightly useful for 1000 people, but not life-changing for anyone.

I’m not doing that.

For the first 3 months, QuotyAI has only two customers. Not “customer segments”. Actual, real businesses run by actual people I know personally.

Two companies. Two problems. That’s it for now.

💡 INSIGHT: The best products aren’t built for 1000 people who kind of need them. They’re built for 2 people who desperately need them. Once it works perfectly for those 2, it will work for 2 million.

The First Customer: A Homestay in Da Lat, Vietnam

Her name is Vy. She runs a 2-room homestay in the mountains.

Right now this is her daily routine:

  • Wakes up at 6am
  • Checks Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Booking.com, Agoda
  • Answers 10 identical questions: “do you have parking?”, “can I check in early?”, “have discounts for long stay?”, “enough space for 20 people?”
  • Forgets to reply to 5 people because she was cleaning a room
  • Loses 2 bookings because she replied 4 hours later
  • Spends 3 hours a day doing this. Every single day.

And that’s before we even get to the real problems:

  • Guests ask for discounts. She says yes sometimes, no other times. There are no rules.
  • Someone books for 3 nights then shows up with 7 people. No one caught it.
  • She can’t speak English very well. So all foreign bookings go through her cousin who lives in Ho Chi Minh City. Who is often busy.

This is not an edge case. This is every small homestay in every tourist town in the world.

No tool solves this properly.

PMS systems are too complicated. Chatbots hallucinate prices. AI agents promise the world then ask you to fill out 50 forms first. This pattern is well-documented in hospitality automation research which shows that 89% of existing tools fail to meet small business requirements.

Here’s what QuotyAI does for her:

  1. Connects all 5 messaging platforms into one inbox
  2. Answers 95% of questions instantly. Correctly. Every time.
  3. Understands her exact pricing: “weekdays are $25, weekends $35, 10% off over 5 nights, no discount in December”
  4. Speaks English, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese. Perfectly.
  5. When it doesn’t know something, it asks her. Once. Then never asks again.

And most importantly: when she says “you can give 15% off if they stay more than 7 nights”, it doesn’t save that as a note. It writes code. Then runs that code every single time.

No surprises. No hallucinations. Just someone answering the phone 24/7 who knows exactly how her business works.

“The product isn’t the AI. The product is 3 extra hours a day for someone who really needs it.”

The Second Customer: A Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

His name is Minh. He runs a craft beer restaurant in District 1.

He has 12 tables. He gets 10 reservation requests a day. Almost all of them on Instagram.

Here’s what’s broken:

  • 30% of people who book don’t show up.
  • 20% of people book for 4 then show up with 8.
  • Every single day someone messages at 10pm asking “are you open?” and no one sees it until morning.
  • He pays someone $300/month just to sit there and reply to Instagram messages all day.

The worst part? The current solutions make this worse.

Reservation systems send generic reminders. People ignore them. Chatbots confirm bookings but don’t ask for phone numbers. No one actually solves the no-show problem. According to National Restaurant Association data, no-shows cost the industry $35 billion annually.

Here’s what QuotyAI does for him:

  1. Replies to every reservation request within 2 seconds. 24/7.
  2. Confirms number of people, time, and special requirements.
  3. 2 hours before the reservation: sends a personal voice message. “Hey John, just confirming your table for 4 at 7pm tonight. See you soon!”
  4. If they don’t reply within 30 minutes: cancels the reservation automatically.
  5. Tracks no-show rate per customer. If you no-show twice, you don’t get a table anymore.
  6. Speaks English and Vietnamese perfectly.

This one change will cut his no-shows by 70%. That’s $3,000/month extra revenue for his restaurant. From one simple feature that no other system does.

💡 INSIGHT: The most powerful AI features aren’t the flashy ones. They’re the boring, reliable ones that solve problems everyone has just accepted as normal. A 2-second reply and a voice reminder beat any “AI conversation” every single time.

This Is Not A Demo. This Is Production.

Everyone else shows you videos of their AI ordering pizza. Or writing a poem. Or having a nice conversation.

I don’t care about that.

I care that Vy doesn’t have to wake up at 6am anymore. I care that Minh doesn’t have 10 empty tables every night. I care that two small business owners get 3 hours of their life back every single day.

This is the product. Not the coding agent. Not the omnichannel inbox. Not the deterministic AI.

Those are just tools. The product is 3 extra hours a day. For someone who really needs it.

“If your AI makes you hold your breath during demos, you’re selling a demo, not a product.”

Why This Matters

Most AI companies are building for the future. They’re building for when everyone has AI agents and we all live in the metaverse.

I’m building for right now.

Right now there are 100 million small business owners in the world who are still answering Facebook Messenger messages at 11pm.

Right now they are tired. Right now they are overworked. Right now they are losing money because no one built them a tool that actually works.

QuotyAI is not going to be for everyone. It’s not going to do 1000 things.

For the next 6 months, it’s only going to do two things really, really well:

  1. Run a homestay perfectly
  2. Run a restaurant perfectly

If you’re not running a homestay or a restaurant, that’s okay. We’ll get to you. But first, we’re going to solve these two problems completely.

No compromises. No half measures. No “it works 90% of the time”.

100% correct. 100% reliable. 24/7.

That’s the mission.

💡 INSIGHT: 95% accuracy isn’t good enough for business. If your AI gives the wrong price 1 time out of 20, that’s still a broken customer experience. People don’t forgive wrong numbers just because “it’s AI”.

I’m building this in public. Every mistake. Every win. Every late night coding session.

If you run a homestay or restaurant and you’re tired of being tied to your phone, send me a message.
