1. Single purpose
The extension helps a business owner move business information from web pages they are viewing (menus, prices, working hours, FAQs, business details) into their own QuotyAI chatbot as ready-to-use skills. It has no other function.
2. Data we collect
Stored locally on your device (chrome.storage.local, never leaves your device unless you push):
- Your QuotyAI API key
- Your selected business entity identifier
- Your theme preference
- Content you chose to extract and queue
Transmitted to QuotyAI (quotyai.com) over HTTPS — only when you explicitly click "Push":
- The content you selected for extraction
- The API key for authentication
- The destination business entity identifier
Web page content — when you click "Scan this page", the extension reads the text and structure of the page you are currently viewing. This happens only on your explicit action, only for the active tab, never in the background, and never across pages you do not act on. We do not collect your browsing history except the single page you open and choose to scan.
Social media enrichment — when you click to scrape a Facebook or social page, the URL you provide is sent to the QuotyAI server for processing. This happens only on your explicit action.
3. How we use your data
Solely to provide the single purpose: review and edit extracted content, push it to your QuotyAI knowledge base, and authenticate with the QuotyAI service. We do not use your data for advertising, personalization, credit assessment, lending, or any other purpose.
4. How we share your data
Shared with only one party: QuotyAI (quotyai.com), the service hosting your chatbot and knowledge base. Content is transmitted only when you explicitly click "Push", only to your own account. We do not sell, rent, or transfer data to advertising platforms, data brokers, analytics providers, or any other third party.
5. Limited Use statement
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Data retention and deletion
- On your device: delete all local data anytime via "Reset session" and "Disconnect", or by removing the extension.
- In the QuotyAI service: pushed content is part of your QuotyAI account data, governed by the QuotyAI privacy policy and terms of service. Delete it through your QuotyAI account.
7. Security
All communication with QuotyAI uses HTTPS. The API key is stored in chrome.storage.local, encrypted at rest by Chrome. The extension does not load or execute remote code (no CDN scripts, no eval, no dynamic code loading).
8. Children's privacy
The extension is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update the "Last updated" date above and, if required, prominently disclose changes before they take effect.
